A keyless entry question.

I have the keyless entry that locks the doors and arms the alarm. It was working fine up until a few weeks ago. Now whenever I press the lock button I just hear the 2 chirps and it doesnt lock the doors. If I press the unlock button, i get the 2 chirps but no action from the locks. Any ideas?

Hi, my car had a similar problem shortly after I bought it in May. There is a sensor in the drivers door lock which may have failed. If so, it won't send the signal to the computer to open the other doors. It is dependent on the main auto door lock mechanism working. 3 door units were replaced on my car including the driver's door. Luckily it was under warranty so cost me nix. This is what the BMW service agent told me anyway. Note that the problem was outsourced to the aftermarket alarm supplier, so maybe just go to one of those guys in your area. Can't give you any idea of the cost though.
