Tech questions: E28 535i

I just picked up an '86 535i and had a couple of questions.

1. The odometer doesn't work. Does the speed sensor in the dif need to be replaced or is it in the cluster? (seems to be a common proble).

2. I was told that the this power steering pump is unique to the 535i, is it true or do other E28's interchange?

I think that's it for now. Car's in decent shape, in need of a good buffing and eventually a paint job. Interior is clean and the leather is good on all of the seats. Motor is very strong, has a "lob" in the idle, I wonder if it doesn't have a mild cam. LS rear end and front brakes have been upgraded to slotted rotors. Also has an M5 body kit.
All this for only 1k! :D

The odometer problem is most likely in the cluster. Go to http://www.odometergears.com/ for more info.
