I think thats actually short of when you would be changing the oil... usually its around the 15k mark... unless the comp says thats its due already :dunno: .....
but every 2500 miles is a bit too often IMO...

On my E38 the green lights went off after about 6k miles because I drive it hard .. and also my dealer uses mineral oil. . .and for the 99-01 E38s the oil change schedule is between 9-12K miles as per my service rep... and as far as the E65 I think it should be a little higher or perhaps around 12k.. in which case now wud be a good time changing it :dunno:

I was suprised too when the salesmen told us that you didn't need to change the oil for like 15000 miles.

His explaination is that the car has an oil cooler that cools to oils, thus oil lasts longer. But I dont mind taking it in at 10k miles for a free oil change and a loaner to tear up :D

it's 15K, with the expectation that you are using the fully synthetic oil it calls for, not the dollar a quart tech stuff at Walmart (Walmart has the Castrol Syntec also)
