Does it really cost $1,800-$2000 for special order paint from the factory? How much of that is really just dealer profit?

I'm thinking of a special color also. Went to the BMW Indiv. site and can't find your color, is it something new?

it's available on 5's and I think 7's and eventually on the Z4

don't look at the individual site. You can go down to your BMW dealership and see the color on a 5er almost definitely. It's a standard color for 5s and 7s I think.
