I have already deposited on the new one and am alowing an aditional 10%. I don't think they can afford anything greater than that. However much will depend on the direction of the Euro against various dollars.

Oh man are you being overly optimistic with +10%. I don't see there anyway it comes in at 10% over the E46 M3 price. Base MSRP is now what? 47-48k on the E46? +10% would put it at 52k. No way the E90 M3 will have a basse MSRP of 52k.

The E39 to E60 M5 went up around 28%.

I am making my first educated guess on base MSRP on the E90 M3.....mind you my prediction for the E46 M3 when it came out was $44.4k and when released it was actually $45.4k. So.....my prediction is base MSRP will be between $54-56k. :-) Or about 14-17% more than the E46 M3.

I think it would be safe to say that the new M3 would be around 54-56k. I wouldn't be suprised if the MSRP started at 52k though. Doesn't matter once I'm through with this deployment to Afghanistan, I'm in there! =)

Base around 57k. Plus a gas guzzler tax.

Maybe 63k fully loaded...I don't think BMW would go near 68k for a BMW M3. How can you justify that kind of price even with 420hp( unless it sctracted your balls and gave you head while you drive.) It would kill the M3 and it's loyalists. Look at Audi and thier RS4 (or any of their cars for that matter) do you really think they're gonna meet their projections with a 70k RS4??? Keep in mind that BMW still has to remain competitive, a 68k 3 series is not competitive...it's murder! The M3 will fade into obscurity ( just like the previous RS4 and RS6 did) with that kind of price tag.

Current base E46 M3 prices are $49k for the coupe and $56k for the convertible (before tax, tag, and title). You can currently load up the coupe for $60k before tax, tag, and title and the convertible for $67k.

MSRP range for E46 M3 Coupe: $49k - $60k
MSRP range for E46 M3 Cabrio: $56k - $67k

Assuming only a 10% increase in price (which I think is too low of an estimate), the new MSRP range will be:

MSRP range for E90 M3 Coupe: $54k - $66k
MSRP range for E90 M3 Cabrio: $61k - $73k

I would expect that one could load the E90 M3 coupe up to $68k, and I sincerely doubt it will fade into obscurity...

The price will be whatever BMW thinks it can get away with charging and still sell them.

In the past, the M3 were $10K - $12K over the price of the top of the line non-M 3er for a base. But the M5/6 is taking a bigger jump, so BMW may try the same with the M3.

And trust me, people will still buy them.

I'm pretty sure people will buy them. With all the new competition coming out these days, I'd be really suprised if the M3 could remain competitve with a 68k-70k price tag. That's all I'm saying..

68k will be a bargain for the new M3.....If it smokes a new 997 Carerra for 75k and is more comfortable to drive, then i'll buy one.

I just sold my 2005 997 which was 74k new and only 325 HP....New M3 with those numbers should be a hit for 70k even!

Perfect blend of power but yet comfort etc....Something Porsche is missing!

the Porsche 997 isn't even in the same segment as a M3. I got a little news from a BMW rep from here in Germany. I spent a little time at the Nurburing. Ladies and gentlemen, the M5 is one if the best cars ever created. I paid 15 euros to go aroung the ring once and it was the greatest ride of my life!!!!!! Talk about almost sh*ting myself. The M5 driver was awesome!

Anyway the BMW rep told us to expect AT LEAST a 7-10k jump in the base price of the M3. Also he said don't be suprised if the M3 has 380hp rather than the rumored 400hp. He said the CSL model is more realistically to have 400hp+. BMW doesn't consider the RS4 as competition because it never really was.

My little two sense...If you look at the strategy of Bimmer, look at the price of the M Roadster. The M Roadster will start at 52k compared to 61k for the Mercedes SLK and 56k for the Porsche Boxster...I think BMW will continue that strategy and keep the base price around 52k-56k

The new 500hp M5 is STILL cheaper than the Mercedes E-CLASS AMG and I bet it will remain cheaper even when the updated E-CLASS AMG comes out. Just a little perspective.

Had the opportunity to ride around the track in a new, chipped, 500+hp E-55 AMG just this last weekend. A bunch of us rented the track. There was my lil E46 325i, 2 Audi S4's (current iteration), a stage 3 Rousch Mustang, an Acura NSX, and an E-55.

The guy who had the E-55 traded a '02 or '03 M5 for it. Personally, I prefer the M5. The E55 was a little swankier, but the M5 got around the track better. :)

That E39 M5 is one hell of a car but driving it wasnt as pleasant as 540i with manual trany.
I'm talking about that clutch jees I had cramps because of that and trans is to precise, hard to drive as a daily car I think.

Wow, are you serious?!? An M3 coupe hitting near 70k loaded? I mean, I guess it isn't that far fetched, but then again BMW starts to risk a lot by doing that. Not careful, and it starts to put itself near (near, not at) the 911, Viper, and even it's own M6 price range. All cars that will give the M3 a run for it's money and have the possibilty of taking sales away from the M3. I think that's not a very smart move if they truly want to price it near the 70k price range.

BMW stands to lose alot by going high like that...just some more perspective...the Mercedes SL55AMG with 494hp (123K) is WAY more expensive than the 507hp BMW M6
(97K) So let's not go overboard with thinking of the price...70k is a little up there for a beefed up 3 series...

Ranger that. I think I'm gonna go put down my deposit (if BMW Honolulu will do it) so when I get back from Iraq NEXT summer, it will be waiting for me. Mmmmmm. CPT's pay and BAH for Hawaii for a whole year, with no bills to pay....

You can save ALOT of money going through them...up 6k depending on the model. The 06 BMW M3 starts at about 43k with them! If you are deployed military I wouldn't go any other way!
