Hey all,

It's good to be back here after Vince first posted his retrofit success on this very same forum.

For those who haven't visited the website, here it is: http://www.bmw-paddleshift-retro.com. Vince has been working on various projects over the past few years, most of which can be seen on this parent website (http://home.comcast.net/~vsengineering/main.htm).

Since the first E46 paddle-shift kit was released, we have moved on to release kits for E53, E39, E38 and now E83 and E85. During which, we started to offer SSG paddles in addition to the SMG paddles.

So what's new lately?

For X3 and X5 owners with the facelifted sport steering wheel, we have this new product to offer:

We have attached a pair of SSG paddles which are modified to work with the BMW Steptronic system. There is no need to buy a new airbag. Simply send in your sport steering wheel, and we can mount a pair of SSG paddles on them. Or if you wish, we can acquire the entire package for you.

Similarly we have also modified the Z4 SMG (SSG) steering wheel to work with Z4 Steptronic system:

Hello,

I am new to the forum and would like to find out where I can buy the paddle shift retrofit kit for my 2001 740iL, so I can have my mechanic install on my vehicle. I had no idea that paddle shifters could be put on my vehicle, I am so excited!

Please provide any information you can. The links displayed do not work.

Thanks,
