Sorry a bit of a newbie here. I just purchased an 03 745LI WITHOUT Satellite Prep kit. would like have Sirius installed in the 745LI via an FM Modulator. I have done this in 2 other vehicles.

Is it possible in the 03 745 LI??

Was wondering if you ever got this figured out. I have the same car and would like to put a Sirius radio in.

Thanks.

FM modulator is almost always an option, there are some other hardwire options available if you are willing to work with the tuner box. I know a guy local that works on them as we are pretty close.

Oh and by the way WELCOME!

Are you sure your car is not already prewired for a BMW Sirius radio? I had an '05 540 and it was prewired (all 540's after a cetain '02 or '03 build date were prewired) - all the dealer did was install the radio and antenna and it was just like a facotry set-up (except the antenna).

I have an 04 745Li that IS prewired for Satellite Radio. I asked the dealer if he could
hook up the system, and he said I would need a module that costs $800.
Installation would be extra.... How did you get your sat radio going with an FM Modulator?
Is that a separate device? How did they hook it up, and how much did it cost? Does it have good sound quality?

I just ordered the sirius receiver and instal kit from Circle BMW in NJ for less than 1/2 of what the dealer here in SF wanted(1100! w/o installation). But alas, we still have to go to dealer to have them install and program. just make sure you vehicle is prewired., the dealer can tell you, or circle can if you give them the VIN.

Check BSW (Bavarian Soundwerks) for aftermarket integrated Sirius--I bought mine for my '08 Z4 there (which is now for sale as my car is off lease....)
