I am frustrated in not being able to find an ipod solution for my '06 530xit, and am willing to try an FM transmitter. According to this discussion on
ilounge discussion (http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?threadid=138342) a cheapie unit from WalMart works well. Anyone try it?
TIA

All wireless FM transmitters are iffy and inconsistent.

If it works well sometimes, great, but I don't have high hopes.

A MOST AUX interface is SUPPOSED to be introduced at CES for that car... let's see what this week brings.

TIAI HATED my iTrip. Since you're in NYC, the FM spectrum is way too dense to get anything half decent out of it. Save your $$ for a hard wired solution.

We'll have some good news coming after the show - regarding MOST as well. :p

FM will transmit at a frequency of 96kbps max, no matter the price or the quality of the unit. Most MP3s are using a 192kbps minimum nowadays, you're essentially cutting the sound quality in half.

I've said before on the forums - putting an FM transmitter on an iPod is like driving a Ferrari with the parking brake on. In Schosche's defense - it is one of the better transmitters on the market.
