View Full Version : Bluetooth Compatibility OBEX

01-13-2006, 06:08 PM
I know that the newer BMW E90 requires to have the OBEX available via Bluetooth, for the phone to pair with the car. Looking at a Parrot CK3000 handsfree list of compatible phones (which also require OBEX) it looked like below; my question I guess is: I am looking into getting a new Motorola L7 SLVR phone and was wondering what the chances of it working are with my E90 iDrive? Basically it is the V3 guts.... Any help would be appreciated. Anyone have any experience with the Sony Ericsson Z800i; that is another phone I may be interested in. Any help would be great!! Thanks.

I have three of the Nokia phones on your list. All work with my 2005 TCU for calls, in and out, but none transfer their phonebooks. Two are locked to Cingular SIM cards, one is not. The lessons:

(1) Don't trust any list other than the official one from BMW.
(2) Decide on what level of compatibility you are willing to settle for.
(3) Test any phone-vehicle combination before committing to it.
