1996 328is - oh so im at my friends place and im trying to get home and my car will not start i unlocked the doors and had 4 beebs (alarm went off, friend was jerking off on my car) but w.e no big deal all i do is go in a turn the key to reset it, but i tryed that and i successfuly rotated my key 2 full times and the key never engaged to try and start my engine, it did this twice before today but i got it started both times but its never done it before, do i need to replace my whole ignition where i put the key or what, should i try taking off my battery cable and try again with it back on, again the car is a 1996 328is

about your key rotating all the way around.......I had the same problem with my car when I first was getting used to it. If the key isn't pushed in ALL THE WAY it will rotate freely like that. That still happens to me every now and then but I don't think you need to replace the ignition or anything like that. =)

You can live with this if you want but you can also replace the lock cylinder. Its about $85.00. I just put up with it for now. :eeps:
