HELP PLEASE car wont start

I have a bmw 318i e36 94 model. I put the key in the car ignition and turn it, all the dash lights come on but the engine won't start and it doesn't make any noise at all. After about 10 tries it sometimes turns on and has no problems. i checked the battery and it was fine. Can anyone help??

could be a problem with your starter or something else, get someone to crank and listen by the starter, if you hear a chattering noise or a clunking sound its the starter if it doesnt make any noise at all its something else, most likely something electrical Im not to familiar with bmw starting systems so if thats not it im not much help to ya, good luck.

Yes, get someone to listen to the starter. DO NOT keep trying to start the car, each time you will be dumping fuel in which is not combusting. Have you tried holding the key in the start position and letting the starter crank? Do you hear the starter? It might be your solinoid.

If it is a manual trany then check the sensors that tell the car its in neutral, because it will not start unless you push in she clutch. My 328ic seems to do that from time to time but if I hold the key in the position you would if the engine was turning over then it might turn over... try that even if it is a auto trany. - If it is an auto trany then make sure its in park, shake the shifter around while in park. If that doesn't wotk then put it in neutral and try to turn it over that way. shake it around while in neutral and it might turn over. If all that fails then replace the relay switch that controls that function, or bang it around, plug it back in and see if anything happens. My dad has a mercades 600sel that was having relay problems and i took it out. slammed it around and it seemed to work just long enough to replace it. I wouldn't have recommended that if i hadn't experienced it myself.. lol

Hit the starter with a hammer as someone cracks it, if it starts then there you go. Starter relay.
