Is there any downside to going 225 all around on an e46 330i with Sp? I have to replace the rears this spring after about 25,000 miles on the OEM ContisportContacts and I'm thinking about eliminating the staggered set up. Any pluses or minuses in doing this?

The rear wheels are 8.5" wide so the 225/45R17 will look a bit 'stretched' on the wheel. It will work and is very common to do with snow tires, but watch for curbing as there will not be much tire width left to protect a wheel from curbing.

Keep in mind that your front *wheels* are a different size from the rear wheels.

Thanks, Gary. The curbing problems sounds like a significant downside to me, since I park on the street a lot.
