Bridgestone Potenza RE040

Any thoughts about the Potenza RE040 18" for a 2004 330i ZHP?

Those are the original tires that came with my car. A lot of people have poo-poo'd them but I have had good experience with them. Unfortunately now at 20,000 miles the rear tires are at the treadwear bars while the front ones have a little less that 50% of their thread left.

I like it a lot, with the exception of: (1) excessive tramlining, (2) a relatively short but still respectable treadlife, and (3) a little pricey. Other than those, I don't have much complaints. That being said, for similar price, the Michelin PS2 is a much better tire in all aspect.

The reviews are none too favourable for these potenzas. I am going to look around at the Michelins and other Bridgestones.

Wish PS2s came in my size (215/45 17 or 205/45 17)!
