No. Sorry, it's impossible to put a tv in any of the standard headrests. You'd have to get an ugly uncomfortable aftermarket headrest.

I beg to differ.... click on the thumbnail you will see a monitor installed in a factory headrest from the luxury seating package. You can tell its the stock headrest; see how the leather is perforated and you can see those things that you can pull out to keep your head straight while sleeping.

Granted the installer could have replaced one of the headrest posts with a hollow one and run the wires thru it, but the pic shows that monitor CAN be installed in a factory head rest. Also the brand of the screen is generic. If you are going to do it put in a nice widescreen Kenwood, Eclipse, Alpine, or Pioneer monitor.

Yeah I went to a car audio place and they told me i could order custom Headrests Tvs each one having its on internal DVD player and still are able to be linked together and they were actually 7 series headrests that had been modded. I think the cost was around $1600 though

its OEM from BMW Individual. i'd rather take OEM instead of letting some minimum wage high school drop out cut my headrests out with a knife to install TVs in them.

I bought SAVV headrests with 7 inch monitors already built in. The leather match in my wife's X5 is PERFECT, and they are indeed comfortable. Front seat passengers cannot tell the difference in comfort, if you so choose to lean your head back against them.

I would advise against cutting your existing headrests. SAVV is definitely the way to go, and just put your existing headrests in storage. Once you get rid of your vehicle, you can take the SAVV monitors with you.

I agree with kato. Even tho they are OEM they stickout and look bad. I like the custom headrest like Jacksprat showed but with no wire showing.

sure... but there are no safety testing done with custom headrests. in fact, i am sure your average car audio/video shop knows jack about seat safety of the E65/E66. i am sure BMW headrests are designed so that during a major accident the TVs dont cause more damage and the seat integrity is not compromised.

ever hear of active head restraints? you should look it up.

i dont want to sacrifice mine or my passengers safety just so that people can look at me and say "wow, look at that retard with custom TVs in the back"

What about a flip down model? How do think it would look in the 745? Surely somebody has TV's in the rear of their beemer.

van 745 makes awesome points... especially on the drop out kid...

but to protect the drop out, they make up most of our blue collar work force, i dropped out, well to join the navy, but got a GED and worked on NUC Tomahawk cruise missiles. But most drop out because of boredom, and have natural talents, though they usally go into construction jobs.

Anyways most installers will be like baffled with doing it and wouldn't, or some with no shame would just throw an axe to it.

the flip downs from the OEM manufacturers are just as much as a missile hazard in a accident as the aftermarkets, and to say what would happen in an accident is hard to predict.

I personally would mount a screen on the back of the center console and have it hinged like the benz's do, sure it isn't glamorous but the seat has more things going on with it, then most american made cars have for collision avoidence or protection, and the overhead if not installed properly is worse.

Porsche cayenne's has simular headrest as the oem pictured above but thinner.

it all comes down to the install shop though in the long run, and will castro's shop is a glamorous hack shop...

Believe it or not some installers make well over 80k a year so I would have to disagree on your comment towards them being " Drop outs "

Viziualogic just came out with a headrest replacement for the 7 series with or without comfort seating. I've worked with them in the past and they match oem leathers well
