My stock wheels and tires on my z3 weigh 43 lbs. Thinking of going to 18's that will weigh 50 lbs. What are negatives? Street use only. Sunday cruizer.

Slower acceleration for sure, and possibly slightly decreased MPG around town I would guess.

just slapped my oem 16" rims back recently on snows. wheel weight is significantly heavier than my summers but shifting and ride is smoother but not as responsive.

FWIW, I had 18's on my former 530 that weighed 54# each. Before I sold it I took them off and put the stock 17's back on that weighed 46# each. That 8# difference was very noticable once I had the lighter setup back on. It didn't prevent me from enjoying the car though and I really liked the look of the 18" setup, plus the ease of cleaning. Next time around I will be sure I get a package that's the same or lighter than my stock setup.
