Very nice video of a Lotus Espirit v8. The transmission noise is deafening at times. They have that thing wound up tight. I wish I could hear what the driver was saying after passing the slower cars. :D

What the hell are you guys talking about? Lotus????

That is an E36 BMW, no matter what the title says. Look at the dashboard and upright profile....

And, it is a regular manual gearbox

Sorry Nate, my bad about the Lotus comment... I saw the title and took it for granted. I don't think I even looked at the dash the entire clip. I was paying attention to the traffic, the racing line and the shifts. If that was an E36 then I'm even more impressed. Never heard one with a transmission noise with such a high pitch scream. :yikes:

That is an E36... But he sure as hell does not have a regular manual... He downshifts forward and upshifts back... Besides... No one with a stick would slick through three gears in sequence.

:lmao: Man, that guy passed most of the field in the first lap. Some of those passes- wow- I like the one where he went past 3 lapped cars on a REALLY tight inside line. The car he was in seemed to have so much more capability that a lot of the others: braking, handling, accelerating. And then we got clear of traffic he was really flying. :)

It is an E36 with an S14 in it.

The whine you hear is the diff, not the gearbox.
