First off, trading 530 for 540 or ///M5 is not an option... I like my 530's handling and nimbleness too much...

Suppose you are going to spend ~$6000 (parts and labor included) to supercharge your car... eg. E39 530i inline 6...

Just trying to imagine what the ~88 HP/~34 Torque gain ON THE GROUND would feel like...

Is that gain really worth it? Will i really feel them, i.e. feel the ~$68/HP gain...

At the rear wheel,

* Stock BMW M54 Engine: 202 HP and 205 Lb. Ft. Torque.
* VF Supercharged Engine: 290 HP and 239 Lb. Ft. Torque (6.0 PSI).

Thus 44% more power and 17% more torque.

The dyno chart is available here,

Thanks much!

VF states e39 530i engine hp will increase from 225 to 330, and torque from 214 to 275 ft-lbs. That equates to an 46% improvement in power-to-weight ratio, so you'd feel a major improvement. The ESS 530i kit produces roughly the same hp and a little more torque, and they estimate 0-60 of 5.0 sec for manual, and 5.6 sec for automatic: http://www.esstuning.com/default.asp?c=shop&cat=93&subcat=102&subcat2=125&id=
