I assuming this is what it's called. It's a 1990 E30 Convertable. 325i to be exact.

It shows the range of fuel, MPG, clock, date, etc. It work, but it doesn't illuminate. I can only see the lcd screen when the sun shines on it a certain way. I am assuming there is a bulb behind it. I just got this car, and I am not sure how the thing comes out to get to the bulb. being a convertable, the plastic is brittle, so I didn't wanna do a trail and error, lol.

i know you've probably got this figured out by now, but it's just a light bar that you need to replace. It's a really inexpensive part, and really easy to change, but a ROYAL PITA to get to. There have been many posts about how to DIY just look up light bar and onboard computer.
