A recent discussion over on E46Fanatics, along with a few posts by dynosor on here a few weeks ago, made me realize that I really don't know that much about what makes a car handle and ride well. I have a decent understanding of the basics: I know what springs and shocks do, what effect certain changes have, what sway bars do, what produces oversteer and understeer, and stuff like that. But I really don't know anything deeper than that. I couldn't tell you, for example, _how_ to match a shock to a spring in order to produce the behavior you want.

Considering how much I love cars and driving (and engineering!), that's really rather intolerable.

So, I'm taking steps to remedy the situation.

It should arrive on Thursday - I foresee an unproductive Friday in my future.
