1986 325 ES, 2.7 liter: Due to my negligence replacing my fuel pressure regulator, I'm going to have to change the fuel rail. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, especially concerning putting my current injectors back into the new rail. I'm hip to the o ring seals on the injectors. Any one ever done this? Any time saving steps or warnings? also, I'm in the market for the rail, so if any one has one...speak up!:bawling:

Is it even leaking? Let's see some pictures.
Maybe we can help.

If you do take if off make sure you relieve the pressure before pullling it.

Thanks Trent. That's the kind of info I need. I do have a Haynes, but I know expereince is the best guide. No, it's not leaking, but the mounting bracket for the pressure regulator is FUBAR. How big of a job is it? Can a shadetree handle it?

You can prolly get a rail from the boneyard you got the regulator from and this type of thing is labor intensive you will have to pull the intake to get a good hand on the rail to wiggle it loose and use auto trans fluid to lube the seals to put it back in the mani and seat the injectors to the rail. If you feel like your in over your head, take it to the shop. I havn't done one on the 325i but I have on the Porsche and it was easier to access and still a pain to seat the injectors in the rail and the mani.
