Which type of tire gauge is more accuarate? I have the stick-type, and I tried an electornic one from a friend of mine, but the numbers between them aren't close. My wife has a Nissan Murano which has tire pressure monitor built-in, and again, different numbers.

I've read many threads in this forum about tire pressure monitor on bimmers. I believe they're not standard on 2000 E46 coupe, right? (At least that's what the manual says)

BMW uses two different types of systems. One just uses teh ABS wheel speed sensors to tell if one corner seems to be turning more than the others on a regualr basis. Does NOT detect all 4 tires low at once. The other uses actual wheel pressure transducer.

Stick types are notoriously inaccurate. Digital types tend to be more so, unless you drop them.

I use a Longacre 3 1/4" dial type for serious work.
