1) ACS Sports Springs (installed by CEC)
2) Bilstein Sports shocks (this is going to be fun...Will do a full write-up). If anyone in L.A. knows of a reputable shop to do 4 wheel alignment, let me know.
3) Transmission fluid and differential fluid swap to Redline (will take pictures and post)
4) Radiator flush.
5) Inspection II (done by me)
Will likely schedule another tech session for the Bilstein shocks. When depends on if we can get the floor jacks ordered through a group buy.
What are you gonna do for a spring compressor to put the front shocks in?
A friend of mine has a nice professional compressor at his place that we could use but its way out in the desert...

Autozone next to my house rents tools out for a decent price. Also the L.A. Chapter library has a spring compressor too.

I don't suppose its a nice, big one you put the entire strut into. We used to use those little $30 compressors but they suck so royally that once you've used a real one you don't wanna go back, sorta like using a stock jack after you've used a lift. :D

If you can plan it so a buncha installs are gonna be done at once, I'm sure I could go borrow the sucker.

Well, that sounds like a great idea...I wonder how many are interested in my Bilstein group buy here in the South land? What, NONE?!
Yeah, we'll see how many are doing their shocks/struts. I'll go to the Autozone this weekend to see what their spring compressor looks like.

If the loaner at Autozone is similar to the ones Pep Boys loans out, you better plan on having an impact wrench available to use on that spring compressor. Otherwise, you'll be manually wrenching it down forever......
The loaner I used from Pep Boys consisted of two coarse threaded rods with clamps at each end. I used them to put lowering springs on my Tbird; the threaded rods bent alarmingly, but didn't break. I suppose an E46 strut uses lighter springs than a Tbird so they may work OK.

Thanks for the tip SteveM...It's not a HACK job unless something goes wrong I guess.

Those are the crappy ones that I was referring to. We went through several of em (yes, we even had an impact wrench) till we decided one of us needed to get a real spring compressor. Haven't looked back since.

Yep, those crappy ones are crappy to the point of almost being dangerous. The one I borrowed was brand new - when I returned it there were plenty of metal shavings coming off of the threads on the rods (yes, I lubed the rods). Pep Boys didn't even ask anything about the condition of it when I returned it - just looked to see if all the compartments in the box had a part installed.
If you can get the one Kaz pictured you definitely won't need an impact wrench. I'm willing to bet Autozone et al will only have the crappy units I described.

Glenn's Alignment in Costa Mesa does top-notch work (they do lots of exotics and track cars). If an hour away isn't too far you might consider it. :dunno:

YO HACK! I would add my UUC TMEs to the list of projects, as well as flushing my radiator and changing the tranny and diff fluid to Redline! :D :D

I just did my coils the other week. I used a compressor I bought at Sears and it was easy. No issues at all.

I am BOOKED this month...How about a Tech Session at one of the OC member's pad late October or early November? We'll address radiator, tranny and diff and STAINLESS STEEL CLUTCH LINE for those interested.

The only level place I have at my place is the inside of the garage but we could probably take over the entire end of the cul-de-sac if we wanted to. :D
