There are always teething problems/improvements to be made. Hopefully, gained experience with the V10 will help BMW avoid major engine problems.

No more than I experienced on my early '01 M3, which did not sour me at all. As stated, a couple years experience with the V10 should eliminate many potential issues with the V8, which will be very similar. And prior E90 experience will sort out many chassis issues.

I would not say a lot necessarily. However, there will most likely be significant issues as in the case of the M5.

You can't chop a V10 down to a V8 and not have issues the first go around.

Go to www.m5forum.com (http://www.m5forum.com) and check out what is happening there.

Transmission failure, oil consumption along with lack of dipstick complaints, oil level sensors, 8 MPG , No launch control, etc. Most of these issues wil be worked out in time. The transmission failure has caused some to be without their cars for weeks.

The price you pay to be the first on the block. Personally I would have leased a 550 SMG for 2 years and then got the M5. Depends how much you enjoy dealer visits i guess.

I think there will be plenty of problems-a dramatic increase in speeding tickets.

I went through the same concerns last year when I ordered the first month of E90s. I think the first production date was May 10th, and I picked mine up on May 20th. Happy to report not one problem with about 8k miles.

And if there are any problems it will be backed by one of the best-BMW.
