View Full Version : 95 M3 Door Locks

My 95 M3 door locks are no longer turning in a counterclockwise direction. I have to lock with the drivers door and unlock with the passenger door. I have tried lubing them up with graphite but it does not seem to help much. Do the lazer cut keys ever "wear out" (it is the orginal key) or should I look into getting new lock cylinders.

I just had this problem. I bought mine in pebble beach CA and I live in Tacoma WA. The weather is much more wet here and I think mine got a little rust in them. I could be wrong. BUT... I tried graphite and it worked for a little bit and then the problem came back. This went on for a while. I then tried white lithium grease spray from a can. I used the 5 inch red nozzle tip and put it in the lock. I wrapped the hole with a towel so that the mess wouldn't get all over the door. Sprayed (small burts) and a bunch of graphite came out. I did this three times and now it is smoother than it has ever been.
