When you purchased your car with BMW assist free for the 1st year, were you told your credit card would be used for auto renewal unless you inform BMW in advance of the 1yr period? I got the following email today, I never contacted BMW Assist :dunno:. Sounds like if you do not notify BMW Assist, your renewal is automatic :thumbdwn:

Dear Mr. Mills,
Thank you for contacting BMW Assist. Our records indicate that your complimentary services expire on 10/1/2006, in which you have until 10/18/2006 to notify us if you want to cancel. You will also receive written notification 45 days before the beginning of your renewal term, inviting you to renew the services. At that time, you will be given the opportunity to opt out of renewing before any additional charges are applied to your credit card. Please do not hesitate to contact customer care if you have any other questions or concerns. Have a wonderful day!

When you first fill out the paperwork and set your password with the dealership they should ask you if you want it set on autorenew. Mine did on both my cars, but I declined and had to initial my decision on the paperwork!
