I just happened to see this pic and thought I would share it. Of course, there are more things to worry about in life than a car that is damaged in a storm. Anyway, I am originally from New Orleans. I have cousins that lost everything (they have insurance, however), so I am not making light of anyone's personal tragedy.

Seems like I recall seeing a video of a dealership with a row of BMWs mired in flood waters after the hurricane. Did anyone else see that?

The New Orleans dealership, Peake, is actually in Metairie. It's on the side of the canal that did NOT have get breached. They faired OK. I believe there's a dealership in Gulfport, MS. Not sure how they made out.

I picked up my E90 from Sunbelt in Meridian, MS on August 28th and used it to evacuate New Orleans the following morning. My mom was watching my daughter and kept calling and calling warning about the storm and how I should head north. I was like "chill out mom, the hurricane's going to hit the Alabama/Mississippi border."

Oops.

I did enjoy driving out of town early (5:00AM) that Sunday morning in my new Bimmer. I remember washing my car at my mom's to get all of the love bugs (it was their season) off before they etched into the paint.

I do recall seeing a helicopter flyover of a Dodge dealership with truck after truck flooded. My brother-in-law had just bought on off the lot the previous week.
