View Full Version : how do i test my AUX fan?

i am not sure if it is coming on, should i just let the car get hot and see if it comes on/ becuase i don't think it does come on. i want to take it off, and try to run a current thru it to see if it works. any suggestions?

well i am not sure what climate control you have,............. but try this ........turn the AC button and the recirc. ( the button with the circle and arrows on the right hand side of the climate control) button. Make sure the heater/ac is going. the fan should kick on. you can see it through the front grill.

you can also pull the temp switch on the passager side of the radiator and "jerry rig" it to turn on,...... just make a U of wire and conect two the three holes.

I second that test. Apparently, the Aux. fan should kick on seconds after turning on the A/C. Please let us know how you do. I have/don't have to replace or delete mine and am torn between what to do. gl

The radiator temperature sensor and the relays controlling the fan are likely failure points. I had two flaky relays that kept my aux fan from working properly.
