1995 bmw 325i

i have a problem with my 1995 bmw 325i. It makes a clunking noise when i release the gas pedal and the noise comes from near the transmission and i just dont seem to know what it is and it bugs me a lot if theres someone who would know what the problem is it would be greatly appreciated if they gave me some sort of idea of what it is.

I recently had a similar problem.. and hopefully for your sake it is not as expensive to fix as mine was... First you need to check the rear 4 bolts that bolt the rear end to the unibody and make sure they are tight... if you still have a knock... look around on the underside of the car towards the rear end in the areas that the bolts are bolted... on my 325is, 2 of the 4 bolts in the rear had broken away from the unibody... not cheap to repair... good luck

I had the same problem w my 325 i sedan, the rear end was ripping off of the unibody. Luckily i caught it in time it was hard work getting it welded back in properly.
