Free for major things since you have a warranty. BMW extended all 2002 745's warranty to 5 years 100,000 for free.

Houston North BMW.
I just extended my service contract to match the warranty. it was 1600.00 but well worth it. A brake job for all 4 would be around 1300.00 . My 2002 745 has 44000, so we are in the same boat.

Around $1k for that service is about right. I think mine was $900 and they did alot of things, changed all the fluids etc. Kind of BS to me that a car with 35k needs new fluids, but it is both time and miles they look at so the computer tells them what to do.

Not cheap by any means but I got a free tranny out of it (lurches when it comes to a stop sometimes).

Why does it cost $158 for an oil change? Is it that complex?

Its a Bimmer, thats why it costs a lot!! Plus think of it this way, you're wearing Gucci shoes and some other person is wearing NoName shoes, well then you decide which one would you admire more???

In this case BMW knows People admire thier vehicles .....so why not bump up a 75 dollar Oil change a bit more for the rich folks. See When they manufactured this vehicle they had a TARGET MARKET and that was for Upper Class citizens...Buts it's all Bullsh*t, I drive an 02 Accord SE, and Im buying 02' 745i soon so Just drive 'em nice and pay for oil do the rest yourself like brakes n fluids but BE careful see if you have Trusty Mechanics.

Here's how the 2002 warranty/maintenance deal works, according to the rep from BMW NA. Nearly all 2002's and 2003's have the 6year/100k mile warranty, however he did tell me some vehicles are excluded for various reasons so be sure to call BMW NA before you buy. The 2002 came with 3/36 maintenance, which was able to be extended to 48/50 at the time of purchase by the original owner or lesee. You'll find many off lease cars have the 48/50 if it was leased for 48 month. If and only if you're still under the 48/50 maintenace you have the option of extending the maintenance to 6/100. Shop around because BMW NA said MSRP for the extion is $1195. My dealer matched the $1195 after first telling me $1800. Do know that they need you key to scan so you can purchase the warranty. Apparently your key actually stores the VIN and miles of your car. I mention this because I've seen posts where people buy the maint. plans from out of state dealers and no one told them that their key needs scanned.

My dealer didn't even want to talk to me about lowering the extended maintenance plan price, even though I told him I can get one online from Nalley BMW for $1,195. They wanted $1,795. Period.
So I went with Nalley online. Got a call back from Rodney, just gave the VIN number and current milage and I was set. Next time I was at my dealer doing service I asked if I am listed in the system with 6yr/100k maintenance and they said "yes". Sounds good to me :)

Please double check the dealer needing to scan the key. I've read posts on here where the out of state selling dealer said it's not necessary only to later find out that it really was. It's really not a big deal as you can UPS them the key. I just don't want anyone to get screwed when it comes time to use the maintenance plan. Both dealers that I called said you'll need your checkbook and your key.

Have your local BMW dealer scan your key.... purchased mine on line for $1198.00 from(NALLEY BMW) the out of state BMW dealer only needs your vin# and current miles.

Good luck!.

im a little lost. I jsut bought a 2003 745LI it had 34000 miles on it now it has 39000. So to see if the car has the 6/100k i would have to contact the dealer to see if it really has that warrenty? I bought the car and liek a month later the seatbelt warning light came on saying somethign abotu seatbelt malfunction. I was gonan take it to dealer and let tehm fix it under warrenty.

Take it to your local BMW dealer it should be under warranty!
Have them confirm your warranty info.
