Had a day off school and work last Friday so I decided to stop by BMW Autohaus' new location. I've never seen such a big dealer in my life. Absolutely stunning. Had some time to play around in a 745Li for a while. I still don't understand I-drive after a good 15 mins.

Anyways, there was a silver 330CiC M-Sport on the floor. Since you 'Muricans don't see too many of them, I thought I'd take a quick pic:

The idea of a $70k+ non-M still boggles my mind though...:yikes:

Get that in coupe form and it what, $60k+ ? :) Much better.

If you still can't figure out iDrive you really should stop skipping school :p ;)

I priced out a 2003 330CI with just the basics: M-Sport Pkg and Premium Pkg-- $58k plus PDI, freight, bogus fees, GST, PST. For a car that's a little better than my 323i.

Still no 6-speed, LSD or real hp. No thanks... I want a V8 for that kind of money. Lexus, Audi... hello?

I'm pretty sure it was because the car didn't have the acc power on, because I just couldn't figure out how to change the radio station. The radio was on, but it was impossible to do anything with it. It had that screen with the 8 different functions, but the knob just wouldn't move to the commands. I could toggle between that menu and the blank one that just displays the frequency, but that's it. :dunno: I did find that phone keypad really neat, as well as the changer, the gigantic armrest, the rear seat vanity mirrors, the power seat controls, etc etc etc etc etc.... The car is amazing as a passenger vehicle, probably the best platform to build a stretch limo on.

And I wasn't skipping school, all 3 classes for the day were cancelled for various reasons. :D

I agree. I drove a 330i quite spiritedly :) at recent BMW's driver training and while it had a bit stronger punch that my 325i, the difference was marginal.

On the other hand, 225 HP is quite enough for a 3-er.
We drove it with ALL smart-butt-gadgets turned OFF, and the car was quite hard to controll. Especially on wet surface :yikes: Personally, I'm not turning DSC off ever again :)

6-speed is comming, it's on 3.0 Z4.

V8's are nice...but they come with big packages, don't they?
I like the size and weight distribution of I6 3-ers :)
.
.
Man, what the heck am I arguing about...
Geez, sry  :)

Have you seen the upcoming IS430? And the confirmed 340hp S4? Hell, even the first previews of the G35 Coupe have me excited. Not to mention the WRX STi EVO VII battle of the giants coming soon. :yikes:

Aw c'mon, why drive a RWD car if you're not gonna have some fun with its slip angles?! :bigpimp:

I'm personally seriously getting interested in my own little drifting craze, especially seeing as how it's raining a lot. And when the snow falls....;)

Moral of the story: empty parking lots can be a lot more fun with a little imagination.

Mystical - about that iDrive. It does that (lock itself in Entertainment menu) when they key was inserted, iDrive turned on, then the key was removed. Since the radio can work without they key for a while, Entertainment section of iDrive is active, but nothing else. So ok, you can skip some classes :bigpimp:

About parking lots...they're fun, yeah, but not when they are filled with light-posts :eeps:

Ya, messing around in a parking lot can be fun, but it gets boring fast.

It is a lot more fun to explore ALL the limits of the car on a roadcourse. Parking lot drifts will never meet the satisfaction of diving of a steep oval at 110+ and rev matching into 3rd for an 80mph full throttle turn.

Or the terror of having to correct oversteer in an 85-90 mph transition :bigpimp:

Yeah, it's the high speeds that I miss out on. Coming to 8/10 of the limits of the car on public roads is too much for me. One day, maybe next year, Nate. :p

did u wander downstairs to their used car showroom. now that's big! i like their customer waiting area, but for some reason the phone lines there didn't work with my laptop modem, nor another customers.

for a really big dealer...visit T&C out at Kennedy and 407. that place is HUGE! they have a giant glass elevator out front with bimmers stacked inside at varying heights. but big dealership is not directly proportional to great service. :)

I heard about the downstairs after I got home. Next time.

And yeah, I've passed by the Town & Country. I also find their service wanting, so I haven't gone in yet. Autohaus forever!

Saw a tidbit on the IS430 on the C&D mag. Haven't seen info on the web yet. Very cool!

The S4 V8 I've targetted as the only viable replacement for my 3-series. The G35 coupe is exciting also.

SOme good stuff is coming out.

If you want to see a nice showroom in Toronto area - try TOWN+COUNTRY up in Markham.

I was told that place is totally off the hook

Let see...

How about a G35 coupe with the V8 from the Q45. That would be interesting.

Yeah, since the G35 is the Skyline, there will definately be an M3-eating supermodel coming out in the future. AWD, 400+hp, 7-speed Sequential optional, etc.
