I would say around 80k
The new M5 starts around there so I doubt you will be able to get within about 10K of the M5's base price with a fully optioned M3, that would put the fully optioned M3 at around 75K and starting around 62ish.

Nobody will be able to answer your question other than "MSRP". The base price will not be announced until the car is basically ready for delivery. Deliveries in the US are still a bit over 2 years off.

My guesstimate I stated in <a href="http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125013&highlight=price">this thread</a> was a base of $54-56k. Anything higher doesn't make any sense.

The base MSRP on the M5 is $81.2k. No way the M3 with base out at what an M5 does.

I hit the E46 M3 price within $1k when it was introduced. I don't figure I will be off by much on my guess. There are archives so I can't go and change my guess later.

have you heard anything about a wait list in the Dallas area. I got my E90 last May & went back to the same salesman. So far he has not heard anything about an M3 wait list.

By the way, I like your price estimate. I would buy one in a heart-beat at around $55k.

Haven't heard nor checked. I know there is a 10 deep (maybe more) wait list on the M2 (M version of the 1 series) at Autobahn. they are the best dealer in the area. I would call them and see what the list is.

My estimate is a base of $54-56k....fully loaded will be pushing $70k I guess.

With a $47K price on my 2004 with every option except BMW Assist and aluminum trim, my car came to $62,500. So with a $56K base and at least $16K wotrh of options, the car comes to $72K, which is about the prive of a new 2003 fully loaded E39 M5....I sense a pattern.

Well, your price just got blown away. The new z4 M roadster is $52,0000 (with shipping).
not to many options, though. By the time 2007 M-3 hits will start at @60,000 with few options to add-just like bmw is doing with the M roadster, M-5 and M-6. My guess is based on what they are doing with current M vehicles and percentage price increases over previous M models. I don't like saying this, but $56,000 base for a 2007 M 3 is wiiiiiiiiishful thinking. The M roadster is available for configuring on the BMWNA web site.

56k (base coupe) for the 2007 M3 is not wishful thinking. It's realistic. 52k for the M roadster is roughly 10k more than the top of the line Z4. Figure that the M3 will be roughly 10-15k more than the top of the line 3 series which will be the 335 coupe.

the onlt thing i can say for sure is 100% fact it will not be 75-80 thousand . . come on guys the m5 MSRP is 81,000 . .

It's anyone's guess at this point, but Bruce is probably fairly close, maybe a couple thou low. We know with the V8 in it and the 335i pushing up from below it's going upmarket a bit. If they get wild and do a CF roof, or something, it will be even more. I'm guessing it will be in the $55-58k range, but we know how those options pile on.

The M5 comes pretty well loaded with few options.

Nav for example would be an option on the M3. My guess is $52k base, and low 60's when equipped with desirable options.

Sorry for gravedig, but I'm hearing from different places the new M3 is coming out around this fall, and some are saying it has about 2 years till it hits our shores. I'm guessing it comes out soon this year or so, with the current E46 allocation's running out I doubt BMW will have a lot of time pass till the next new e92 m3 comes.

The stuff you heard about the new M3 coming out this year is probably 1) rumor has it it might be somewhat introduced this fall at an auto show (is Frankfurt this year?), or 2) it could be out later this year in Europe. The US intro date is set for early to mid 2008.

That is not a bad choice. I am soooo curious as to what the tuners are going to be able to for power on those bad boys. I figure they will be easily getting more power than the M3 will have for less than the increased sticker price on the M3.

I was discussing M3 pricing with my CA yesterday and a 06 base starts at 49k plus moderate options will land you at mid 50s w/o TTL, so 60 or low 60s will be your 06 model. He guess that with 07-M3 at V8/400HP 4.0 ltr it will be about 10k more so maybe the new 07-M3 will be at 70s, as similar equiped as discussed.
I may just seriously settle for a E46-M3 then when the prices starts falling!
