Will S52 radiator fit in '98 328i?

Hi all - visiting from the Z3 forum.

My neighbor's son fell victim to the infamous plastic radiator explosion. So, he needs a new radiator. (Radiator took a chunk of the hood insulation and one of his blade on his fan blade).

I've got my old S52 radiator and was wondering if anyone here knows if an S52 radiator (from a 2000 M Coupe) will drop fit in a '98 328i.

They're both 550mm according to www.realoem.com, but of course, the part numbers are different.

So, if anyone knows if it will bolt up more or less to the 328i without too much hassle, let me know and if you've done it, what hurdles did you encounter?

Just trying to help my neighbor out.

(Tried search and got too many results back, nothing related to which different radiators could be used)

Also, I know the part numbers are different between the M52 radiator and the S52 radiator, but having different part numbers doesn't necessarily mean stuff won't bolt up in place of each other.

For example, the S54 radiator bolts up perfectly in place of the S52 radiator and even gives you an option to hang the S54 oil cooler.

The S54 oil filter housing also directly bolts in place where the normal S52 oil filter housing would work.

If anyone can help out - that would be great.

Yes S52 radiator will bolt up to a M52

My neighbor's son went ahead with the swap and found that the S52 radiator successfully fits in a '98 328i with no problems or fitment issues.
