have you tried a different switch on that door? have you check to see if the motor is getting juice? I would check that first. If the fuse was bad none of the windows would be working.

Drivers window and passenger window went dead at the same time.
I was just starting to put down the drivers window and after about 1/8" it stopped.
The Fuse box states the "front windows" have their own fuse but it does not say which one
it is and they "all" look good.
>> IS THERE A RELAY/MODULE for it??????
Thanks for the HELP!!!

what does your manual say about relays?( bently ) have you checked for power at all or even replace the fuse?

Cover of the fuse box says it's a 30amp. But it does not tell the location of the
fuse. I guess I could replace all the 30amps and see if that does it.
Funny that it just stoped. Owners manual says nothing about relays/modules.
Thanks for the help!!

You might want to check the comfort relay, which you have to partialy take apart the area under the steering wheel. See my reply to this thread: http://forums.bimmerfest.com/showthread.php?t=119855

Edit: whoops, I somehow missed that your back windows worked. The link above about comfort relay is only if all windows stop working.

I found the answer!! The 97 328i BMW owners manual does not show a diagram
of where and which fuses go to what device. On the back of the fuse panel cover board
there are explanations about what AMPS to what fuse but "NOT" what fuse to ehat device
like every other fuse box I have ever worked on!!
So... it does say the from windows have their own 30amp fuse. So this is what I was looking for and they all looked okay!! BUT!!!! I started looking close at all the fuses and found a
5amp that, as you know, as a very thin wire. I took a close look. BAD! A previous owner must have replaced a 30amp with a 5 amp and it blew!! I put in a 30amp and all is well!! Both front windows are up and running!! Thanks for all the help.
By the way... I could "not" find the circuit breaker under the dash to the right of the streering
wheel.
