View Full Version : Can anyone tell me what is the wattage bulbs I need

I have a 98' 323IS and am looking to upgrade the bulbs to some Nokya blue/purple ones but i deffinitely dont want to burn or melt my harness so what is the hottest bulb wattage that I can get away with?

I wouldn't get anything over 12v/55w. Anything over usually blows out quick (within a month or two), or it gets so hot the bulb actually melts and deforms. I would go with the PIAA's, closest to the HID look. Or if you could afford it, get the real HID conversion kit. (McCulloch, Hella, Philips, etc.)

which PIAA's they have alot that i saw...and are the 12v 55W for both the high and low beams?

yes for both, if you have the stock housing i believe you require 9006 style bulbs but im not positive.

High beams are 9005 low beams are 9006.
I have some 100w bulbs if your interested. Made in Korea. I have pics if interested.

I recently upgraded just the bulbs in my stock headlights. I got these ones from Autowerks.com and they are much better than stock. If you want the regular headlights they are the 9006 and 9005 for the high beams(as stated above). Here's a link to the ones I bought. Good luck with your decision.:thumbup:
