I just bought a 1998 328iC with 90k for $11,800 (too much?).

This is my first BMW. This car has bowled me over - it runs great and is rock solid on the highway and on curves. Wow!!! I see what all the talk about BMWs is about!

Anyhow, I now want to make this car last.

I looked at the forums and there are lots of posts but not sure how to boil it all down.

Are there a few absolutely essential items to replace or check into (even if I am not having problems yet)? Like replacing O2 sensors, cooling system components; the radiator, etc.?

I am looking for essential preventative maintenance tips so I can avoid problems. I already had belts, filters and oil replaced.

Thanks!

This is a link to the E36 M3 forum, but it's more or less all the same stuff.
I've got a '98 M3 with 100k on it and I've had to replace; thermostat, radiator, control arms, shocks and struts, fan clutch, O2 sensors, and all the little nickel and dime stuff.
