HI all! I have been checking out the different BMW forums for about two weeks now, and your forum seemed to be the most active, fun and informative.

Well, I purchased my first BMW about a week ago and although I know some seem to be iffy as to whether or not it should really even be considered a real BMW, I think it is a LOT of fun. Obviously it is a 1995 318i, black , 5-speed and fortunately it's interior is near perfect! Still looks new. Been doing some DIY stuff this past week, like replacing fog lights and replacing the bulb behind that high speed, low drag 7 button OBC. LOL Also had maintainance 1 and 2 done yesterday. All is well. What a fun car to drive! Ofcourse I am coming from a 1992 Ford Exploder with issues, but this 318 has already become my favorite car I have ever owned. I have had Camaro's, Scirocco's, Gran Am's and a few others, but none had the "feel" this one has.

I have no manual. But I do have a question, if I may?

Ok, center console, left of the shifter, the button between the front driver side window button and the rear driver side window button, what does it do!?!?! Its like that light switch in my living room that doesn't turn anything off or on.

Beside the mission I am on to find out about that button, my future plans are for a new paint job do to the local kids ... a new front a rear bumper covers (M3's maybe) angel eyes and a Conforti chip. Will probably stop after that. I have read a lot of threads on 318 mods and doesn't seem to be much use after that. But that's ok to. I turn 40 this year, not old enough for a mid-life crises car, but I do like to keep insurance rates down. LOL

Guess I have just mellowed some with age...:)

Well, thanks for listening and thank in advance!

The button shuts down the controls to the rear windows. It makes them child proof.

Well, thats what I thought it was...must be disconnected. I pushed it down, but the rears still go all the way down...hmmm. They go down from the front controls, didn't try the controls on the rear doors. Will try that in the morning!

I really appreciate the quick reply! Thank You!
