Thanks to Clyde, I ran a batch process in PS... Jaggies are nearly eliminated now.

Edit: Uh, I suppose I ought to include a link. :p

 You can see a lot more detail now, and the pictures of course just look nicer in general. For example, I can make out the tread pattern on my tires in several of the pics now.

Hey Nick, am I allowed to save these photos and post them on my own site? Due credit will be given, of course.

You're more than welcome to post the pics on your site. :)
And I certainly appreciate credit.

I should start charging for these things. ;)

And, even though they're not all perfect, they're still many times better than the pics taken by that Turn4Photo.com guy.

Quit saying that! :yikes: Seriously though, if you did start to charge I'd definitely buy my share. But don't take that as encouragement. Dammit.

I like some of the "errors" in the photos, such as the white balance/overexposure on a few shots. It adds a sort of hazy, race-like atmosphere to the frame.

My view is that if you don't make some mistakes, you won't get really interesting shots. Perfect consistency usually leads to blandness. ;) (Oh, yeah, and I'm not perfect, either, but we'll just ignore that one there... )

I was more referring to not always getting the entire car in the frame (no offense Nick).

Still, I am grateful for the pics.

Out of Saturday's batch,

This is the shot.

The more you do it, the better you're going to get.

*chuckles* I'll work on that at the next autox. :) Compare with the previous pictures, and we're seeing a rather nice improvement.

do a lot of people cut their plates like that guy did?

Would look lots better on E46's like that too, if you had to put on a front plate.

That WRX could use some more negative camber, F&R

Hmm... 1/250th there. I think I'll shoot the next event at 1/180th in SP. I shot the latter batch in manual, and ended up underexposing way too much. This one would be a lot better if the exposure had been on target. And repaint that damned spoiler!!! (And yeah... I probably should have zoomed out. :p)

I've seen it before on some other cars. I'm sure doing so is of questionable legality, but no more or less than leaving it off entirely. :p

Isn't it nice to be able to see the results immediately, thanks to digital technology? I think you would find this sort of thing nearly impossible with plain old film.

And regarding that front spoiler...I'm guessing that all the highway miles from Gumball just took their toll on the paint. I've heard that some of the Ferraris came out of it with portions of their front bumpers nearly down to the primer.

Given a sunny day, 1/180 in SP is going to force the aperture to close down too much (probably F16ish). Look into a 2 stop ND filter.

$100+ for the filter... $300+ for more storage... Not to mention the rather large sums I've put into the equipment already... Oh hell. I'm just kidding. But it would be nice to defray some of my costs. ;)

Heh...the money is in the prints anyway.

There we go! Defray the cost of the Canon S9000 that I'm going to have to buy eventually. ;)

One of the things I wish Ofoto or Shutterfly or any of those websites would do is enable some kind of print referral ability. That way, you could upload your pics and make money from people ordering prints. Only you don't have to lift a finger after uploading the photos. :D
