I am looking to purchase a 2007 BMW 530i in the next few weeks with European delivery option. As I understand, Euro delivery is pure profit for dealers. I am looking to make an offer which is $600 over invoice. The details are as below - all prices are Invoice
How is my offer? Do you think I should go higher or try with an even lower price?
thanks!
Euro Invoice 40200
Destination 695
Steptronic trans 1210
Rear side airbag 350
Navigation 1640
HD radio 455
Logic 7 system 1090
Leather 1320
Sport package 2550
Heated front seats 455
Dealer profit
over Invoice 600
Total 50565

"Pure profit" is a little misleading. The dealer has to do paperwork and take delivery of the car, etc. The transaction does involve their people and facility, and thus they need to be paid.

You've gotta be kidding me... Do you realize that even employees of BMW dealership don't even get that?
Pure Profit?? I see... I suppose if you are doing nuthing on weekend and I call you to come over my house and mow the lawn for 3 hours and i should pay you $20 for it... why?? Because it "pure profit" and you otherwise would get paid nuthing if you did nuthing by sitting around. Do you see the flaw in your "pure profit" theory?:dunno:
Just because its extra $$ doesn't mean that it makes sense to do it. You will not find anyone at that price, you will need to take that number and multiply by 3 for it to make sense.
just speaking from my experince,

x3 is a little high but still reasonable. x2 is about right. Good Luck!

Any other fees on top of that? Also, how far is the dealership from you? $600 over invoice is the new low I've seen - the dealership must've been pretty desperate....

Stan Mayhew doesn't sell cars that low. I am sure that you will soon find out. Where do you think the home of Oregon Ducks is at??!!

Well, that is one number and one of the lowest I've ever heard. I'd say be on your guard for other mark-ups that may get slipped into the process when you get ready for how you will finance the car.
Are you leasing, getting a loan, or paying cash?
