Hi,
I got the hardware to have the Bluetooth phone cradle installed on my E60. I already figured out that there are four screws that need to be opened to replace the first (top) part of the center console storage with the base plate and snap-in adapter. Problem: I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE WIRES ARE CONNECTED. There is a hole in the center console but I don't know where it's going to....:tsk:
So my question would be: How difficult is this installation? I already figured out that I'm not able to do it on my own so I'm trying to figure out how much my dealer might charge me / how long it will take....:dunno:
Thanks in advance..

I believe the wires for antenna and power are under the console. I am not familiar with your model. But you have to remove the center console to route the wires up to the cradle.
Also, the antenna may not be attached in the trunk.

Thanks!
That sounds about right although it's hard to believe that the ENTIRE center-console has to be removed just to install the phone cradle. I mean, how many hours of labour would be required for that? 5 hours for a cradle? On the E66 it only took 5 minutes...:dunno:

This is a 30 minutes at most DIY job.
It's not difficult.
All you need are screw drivers.
The wire connects to a connector right behind the rear vent.
The easiest way to do is as follows.
1. Disassemble the connectors that comes with the cradle. You can use a small flat head screwdriver to seperate the connector shield and the actual connector within it.
2. Pop open panel under the rear vent using flat head screw driver.
3. On your console, there is a small opening toward left rear. Slide the disassembled wire connector down and toward the rear vent.
4. There is a connector right underneath the rear vent. Re-assemble the white connectors that comes with the phone cradle and then connect the connector to the connector underneath the vent.
This is a quick and easy DIY.

Thank you very much for your info. Since I had to pick up a trunk-mat at my dealership today I had them install this cradle "professionally". You are right about the 30 minutes - that's exactly how long it took and the dealer charged me $50 for it - not too bad..:eeps:
I already opened those 4 screws and I also found the hole leading into the center-console, but I was simply too stupid to get the connector into it ("Hmm, who is it possibleto get this big thing into this tiny hole..??":ouch: ). So I thought "what the heck, before I break it, let the dealer do it...:bawling:
It looks very nice...:bigpimp:
Thank You once again for your help!

You're absolutely right about that, the answers I got - especially how quickly - were very satisfactory..:D
I posted it in Ask-A-Dealer because I thought a dealer would know how much a professional installation would be (on the other hand, E60 owners who had that installed in the past should know that as well..:p )
Once again, Thank You folks for your advice!
