I recently purchased a coffee mug at the mini dealer that was designed to fit in the Mini cup holders. If your mini has not arrived yet, make sure you get one of these if you partake of coffee on the road. If not, you'll have to use the rear coffee holder which involves a near shoulder dislocation to reach.
The cup holders were designed to hold soda cans and nothing bigger.
