I was at my dealers today, and i just noticed an abundance of E65s just sitting around. Inside and out, there was about a dozen. Only two had SOLD on it.

In 2002 there were a rarity, now it seems like not.

I guess I have to post here or Jon may remove the board for "lack of feet traffic." :D

Me thinks that the high end is finally being affected by the economy (at least here in the U.S.). There is no way BMW or Mercedes can keep producing all these high priced cars and expect buyers to show up. The potential buyers are right now licking their wounds from losing, oh, maybe a few millions in the stock market?

Either that or people actually think that the car is ugly (though I am starting to like it with the 19").

If that really is the case, then both BMW and MB (and others) are completely screwed, as their most expensive cars are yet to come (RR-01 and Maybach, respectively).

But even here in SoCal, there is plenty of 'old money' to go around to keep sales of these sorts of things at a fairly steady pace. In fact, both local dealers I went to the other night had barely any E65s in stock because of the dock stoppage.
