I am staying with 18s because of Pennsylvania's lousy roads. Running 20s around here would most likely be heartbreakingly expensive:(

I was breaking Terje's chops about "What's an E38":) Both he and I are regulars in the Roadfly/bimmer.org board. I go by Simeon there.

"Baby" has been modified quite a bit however the mods are mostly performance related. The list is:

Modifications:

by VAC Motorsports:
External oil cooler w/ thermostat control
Port & polish heads, valve seats
Upsized injectors
Dyno tuning.

The gains in performance are substantial, especially in the middle of the RPM range.

DINAN MODS:
Dinan Hi Perf MAF w/Stage 4 engine software
Dinan transmission software programming
Dinan Stage 1 brake system
Dinan Stage 1 suspension (30mm lower)
Dinan 3.15:1 differential
Dinan/K&N CAI
Dinan Cat-Back exhaust
Note: Dinan mods by Devon Hill BMW

OTHER MODS:
Bavarian Autosport strut tower brace
Bosch Xenon HID system
Brembo GT 355mm brakes
Catz H3 fog lamps
Euro (clear) corners & side markers from Bavarian Autosport
BMW 22 mm. (740i Sport) Anti-sway bar

Summer Tires:
BMW Composite 18 x 8" front & 18 x 9" wheels rear
Dunlop SP 9000 tires, 255/45/ZR18 fr. & 285/40/ZR18 rr.

Winter Tires:
BBS RX 18 x 8.5" all around
Dunlop Winter Sport M2 235/50/HR18 tires

The remaining mods are slated to begin late next week Jan 25 th with the installation of:
S6S420G 6-speed manual gear box,
280mm E31 clutch,
B&M CNC machined billet shifter w/ lighted knob of course
custom aliminum flywheel,
ESS PD 7lb. boost supercharger
and some suspension mods yet to be determined.

I plan on the FIKSEs for track use, but Tony @ VAC is asking for my BMW Composites, and the FIKSEs may become my Summer wheels.

That is an amazing E38. Haven't been to your web page, although I have sigs turned off, and you probably have it listed there!

I would like to tell one of my friends about your www site; he has a '01 740iL (SP) and is interested to modify but not sure what to do.

I better turn sigs on!
