Just caught the opening race of the German Tour Car season on Speed Channel. Not a single BMW in it. What a darn shame. :tsk:

At least there is an M3 in the Speed GT series.

I watched some of their races last season and they had the same cars as they do this year : Mercedes, Audi and Opel. I wonder why they don't have a larger range of vehicle types. :dunno:

I spoke with Ben Burrell, the driving instructor at the PC, while I was their last week and he indicated that we should be on the lookout for a "BMW spec" series. Apparently it is something being looked at and may start "soon". I asked for more detail but he said he could not release any more information.

Hopefully BMW is putting all their time, money, and effort into beating those damn Ferraris and Schumacher next year.

That would be fantastic if BMW started a one make series, like the old M1 races.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the new CSL :eeps:

Actually, there was the first round of the European Touring cars on Speed Channel last night. Quite a few BMWs involved. Alfas beat them in both heats. They suffered a weight penalty carried over from last year. I hope Speed keeps this up all winter. They have the BTCC, German Touring Car and now the European Touring cars, plus I think they are carrying F3000 races from this year.

Nate,
Not sure what Ben was referring to. I asked 1 probing question and he clammed up. But he had a devilish smile on his face which is a good sign.

Richard,
Yea, I saw the ETC race and their were plenty of Bimmers. (I named the thread incorrectly. I tried to rename it "German Touring Car" but it didn't work. :tsk: )

Perhapts this is what the Ben was the series Ben was refering to? :dunno:
