Looks like you lose the CD player with the MOST bus iPod adapter. Bummed about this.

See it in operation in a 6'er vert.

My choice is to pass on the iPod integration and just add the Aux connection. I will do this at the next software update since that will be included in the installation.

I have an IceLink in my M3. Just as a word of caution. It's rare that I want to play an entire playlist etc and find the ability to change playlists and skip songs etc to be very useful.

My choice is to pass on the aux connection and get the functionality that make it truly useful. CD players will be going the way of the buffalo in cars soon. BMW should instantly make the Premium Sound Option available w/o the CD changer if using an iPod renders it useless.

Of course, it would be interesting to know if the absence of a connected iPod allows the changer to be used.

When you use the aux input, how do you charge the iPod? The Dension hardware in my Audi provides both an audio connection and power for the iPod. As I understand it, both the new BMW and Dension units will provide iPod control through the iDrive dosplay. With the aux input, I assume you can only control the iPod directly. Is that correct?

Thanks!

That's he setup in my Audi as well, and I also to not rue the loss of my CD changer. However, I'm grateful that the fuctionality of the in-dash CD is maintained since I use that to preview new CD's before downloading songs to my iPod.
