New to the forum, and wondering if you guys change the tranny oil and filter or you believe on the lifetime BS.:yikes:
How do you change the oil, I could remove the oil pan, put a new filter and gasket but how do you refill it afterwards?
Thanks.

Here's a link to a very good DIY. Fluid level is critical on these transmissions, follow their directions to the letter. Trans must be level, and at temperature when checking level after refilling.

I took my car to my indy mechanic to have them change the fluid. I watched the entire process - the refill is a pain and it is very messy. plus my car had 2 pans, so it was even harder.

usually i'm a DIY person, but for something this messy, I just coughed up the cash. But others might have a different experience.

They do claim life time oil because the proper lifetime oil would cost you your life savings!!

Kidding... anyway, there's refill hole that you can pump the fluids in after you re-fit the oil-pan. Make sure your car is level when you refill and check that the fluid is at the right temperature when you refill them.
