Recently I have noticed that whenever the key is turned on my 320i the rear reverse lights are always on - if I sit in neutral they remain on, as im driving they remain on etc etc.

I did have my car serviced last week and the SIL panel reset so I am wondering if it has anything to do with that?

I took out the rear reverse bulbs and obviously the problem went away.

Has anyone else out there encountered this sort of problem?

Must be a bad reverse light switch.

Is this an easy/expensive problem to fix? I just think it's strange that it has only happened just after it has been in for a service.

Maybe they disconnected and reversed the wires. I am not sure of location as I havent had to search for it yet. I can look it up tomorrow when i am home though if you don't have a Bentley.

maybe the old driveshaft problem, BMW used a substandard clip to hold the reverse wires about the driveshaft. I had weird Symtoms, Lights staying on, Flickering,Ect. until they finally went out. Id definitly check my Switch and the wires under the car.

the reverse light switch is located on the passenger side of the tranny up towards the top. Another thing you want to look at is the wires running from the center console were the shifter is to the switch on the side of the tranny. Sometimes they will short out.

Okay then... how do I sort this out?
Does it have anything to do wiht the fuse box at all?

it does have a fuse location in the box, but i would examine the wires first
