HI All.

Just bought my first BMW a couple of months ago. Have already found these forums useful (thanks Jon!).

Car is: 2003 530i 5-speed manual, Sport, Premium, Cold Weather packages in Sterling Grey with charcoal interior. Had about 40.5K miles when I bought it and now has a little over 43K.

I drove an Audi A4 before buying the Bimmer. Nice car, but wanted something larger with more power.

I already have to take the car in for the first time, as I'm getting Check Brake Light and Check Backup Light messages, plus when those are on my turn signal doesn't work either (only on the right side). I think it's just a bulb problem (bulb contacts appear to be slightly melted away). I'm still taking it in to the service center though, hoping that even bulbs would be covered under warranty, as I understand they are kinda pricey.

Gonna have to get the dash pixels replaced before it goes out of warranty as well. Anyone have an idea of how bad they have to be before they will replace it? Many of the pixel columns seem to come and go; don't know if any are totall burned out.

I'm in Tulsa, OK. Any other 'festers in the area?

Welcome from a fellow newbie. If you have the full maintenace warranty, then yes, even the bulbs are covered. The thread that covers the dash pixel problem is listed below.

Good Luck and enjoy the knowledge of the board.
