Hey

Hey everyone this is my first thread. I have a 1986 325es and its got this rubber rear spoiler that has been painted to match the color of my car. everytime I bring it to school its seem that I have a new chip off the paint. I now am so fed up with the thing I just want to remove it so the car is back to its normal beauty. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas in removing it, and also on filing in the holes it will leave behind?

Also I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find a nice set of 17" rims for not that much. maybe rims that have lots of spokes, or even a nice classic basket weave pattern. right now I have the basic bottlecap style rims and I need a change. Also i really like beyern wheels but they dont fit my car, why is this?

I was recently shopping for an E30 sport package car for my daughter, and I looked at a few cars that were available. Every single one of them had the problem that you describe - the decomposing rubber spoiler... One would think that some aftermarket company out there would make a quality reproduction for a reasonable price.
:dunno:

Removing the spoiler should be fairly straightforward. Once it's off, any welder/body shop can fill the holes. You might even find a used trunk lid from a non-sport package car that you can buy for cheap and have it repainted...

As far as rims go, keep an eye on eBay auctions. I've seen some nice ones go through over time...
