Yesterday a few B'festers from around TX did a roadtrip to attend the Audi Streets of Tomorrow being held at the Southfork Ranch in Parker (Dallas). Attending from Austin were Xspeedy (with the Mrs. and a friend from work), Icemanjs4, and Afshwant; from Ft. Worth Kyyuan; and from Houston LDV330i.

The event was spotlighting the introduction of the new Audi Q7 which we were allowed to drive on the streets. That car is pretty heavy and although it has a powerful V8 motor it was not that quick. It had many interesting options such as adjustable air suspension, four individual temperature controls, 2 front DC outlets and 2 in the rear, back up monitor camera, front and rear heated seats, voice command controls for the MMI, reclining rear seats, etc.
On a separate course people were allowed to be driven around in an S4 by a professional driver. Another course had a small autocross type layout so you could test drive the A3 S-line, A4, A6 S-line, A8, a Q7, TT, and so called competitors for the Q7. Since the lines were were pretty short for the A3 so we made the best of it by driving it repeatedly that we actually exceeded are quota. :D You were allowed 5 punches on your event ID card with the Q7 and S4 ride each being 1 punch. As the crowds grew later in the afternoon were told we could no longer take excess rides. We all agreed that the A3 was the best of the bunch and the A6 S-line was pretty impressive.
After the course event we went back to the exhibition hall where there was a R8 race car. You were allowed a photo op by sitting in the car. I think race car drivers must be the same size a horse jockeys, that cockpit is a pretty tight fit. A European version S8 was on display. That car has an impressive stereo system. Other vendors had displays there. Some nice finger food was provided along with drinks including smoothies.
To close out are GTG the B'fester gang decided to visit a "tapas" bar before heading home.
