from my ED trip. What a blast! I want to thank both of you for the great buying experience.

Can't wait to experience the "Cutter delivery"!! The lady at the Harms drop off office said 6-8 weeks. Please tell me that she's overestimating

Very nice! Congrats! How long were you there?

Didn't have enough time to do ED this time, hopefully next time!

6 ~ 8 week! :yikes: I certainly hope she is overestimating. The ED wait is the primary reason why I have not try the program yet. Don't think I could wait that long. :D

Congrats on your new car. It looks beautiful!

Beautiful car, Congrats!! Don't worry about the 6-8 weeks, they're just making sure they aren't caught short. I turned my car in on Sep 13th in Zurich and it was delivered by my dealer on Oct 18th. You ought to be able to track the car once it's manifested or loaded on the boat. Using your VIN go to this site:
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/GLWebApps.AppTracking
It'll give you the boat and voyage and dates.

Where did you spend your time in Europe?
Good luck.

It took 4 weeks for you because you are on the east coast... it will definately take a few more weeks if it has to make it to the west coast. Another good reason to be on the east coast!! :flipoff: :flipoff:

Congratulations, and welcome home!!!!

I'll do everything that I can to expedite a speedy delivery
for you; in the meantime, how about a nice writeup
about your ED experience for your Bimmerfest bretheren?

Ian,

I'm glad you had such an enjoyable experience. Like Jon said, let us know some of the particulars regarding your Euro experience. I think the estimated timeframe for delivery to the west coast is one of those under promise and over deliver things. We will make sure that on our end there will be no delays in getting your car to you. Welcome home!!:)

Congrats...

I lived in Phoenix when I did ED last year... It took just about 6 weeks for the car to reach the dealer after I dropped off in Amsterdam. Here's the dates:

Munich Pickup - May 22
Amsterdam Dropoff - May 28
Arrived at Dealer - July 10 or 11 (dealer called to tell me it was there)
Pickup in Phoenix - July 14 (I was travelling for work that week and had to painfully wait until Saturday)

Thanks, SONET! The whole delivery experience is really a wonderful experience... every BMW enthusiast must do it!

We had the car for exactly 7 days (picked up Oct 28th, dropped off Nov 4th) and exactly 1095 miles.

The day of the delivery:

JeffreySB, yeah the wait is long for us on the west coast. But I'll definitely do ED again for my future BMW... it's a no brainer

beauport, thanks for the Wallenius link. I just put it on my IE toolbar.

We spent 3 days in Munich. Then we drove to Vienna and stayed there for 2 days. Then we went to Salzburg and back to Munich.

From Munich we visited Neuschwanstein Castle, then drove to Frankfurt via Stuttgart. 2 days in Frankfurt and dropped off the car there.

Yup I'm working on a "travel diary" of my ED trip. Stay tuned! ;)
